Staying true to ‘Roots Reggae’ the band are in the studio recording their debut album that preaches ‘One love, peace and harmony’ in a time of fake news, war, migration, and xenophobia, sending a message of solidarity and unity.

The Light Runners have become synonymous with hypnotic hooks and fluid vocal harmonies with a distinctly African flair, a live show not to be missed.

Veteran Dublin sound system WORRIES OUTERNATIONAL have been promoting reggae and dancehall music at home and abroad for over two decades.

Cheshire church hit by complaints over ‘noise’ to be turned into flats – Cheshire Live

Work can finally begin to turn a disused Warrington church into an apartment complex. Warrington Borough Council has approved an application to convert the building into six one-bedroom and two two-bed flats.

The building, which was previously called the Gospel Hall, is on on Forster street in Orford and dates to 1898. The Urban Church had used the building under the name of the Oasis Centre.

The Urban Church had grown so popular that the premises was no longer suitable for them and they were left with no choice but to find a new venue.

The planning report states: “Noise from a full worship band, special events, community users generated regular neighbour issues.” Since the Urban Church moved out in 2019, the building has been disused.

There had been attempts to find another church or community group that could use the premises. The report adds: “Conversations were held with the Pastors of the Lithuanian, Iranian, Zimbabwean and Nigerian churches and a new Free Methodist congregation, however, whilst a number viewed the property, none were interested or in a position to purchase the building.

“Consideration was also given to starting a foreign language congregation in the building however a suitable lead could not be identified such that this proposal could not be progressed. Pure Performing Arts, based in Liverpool, showed some initial interested following use of the building for a number of performances, however they made the decision to expand in America instead.”

A previous application to transform the property, involving three houses of multiple occupation and five one-bedroom apartments, had been turned down.

The new application has been approved by council planners, despite residents making objections based on parking issues and bins potentially being left out on the terraced street.
